Vatel School Rwanda
Rwanda Meteorology Agency ( METEO RWANDA ) is a Government Agency under the Ministry of Environment (MoE) with legal personality, administrative and financial autonomy. The purpose of METEO RWANDA is to provide weather, water and climate information services for safety of life and property and socio-economic development. In Rwanda, observations of rainfall and temperature were established in the 1930s but the first station was installed at Save in 1906. The Rwanda Meteorology Service was created in 1963 and in 1968 METEO RWANDA was established as the main coordinator of meteorological services in the Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA). Later in 2011, Rwanda Meteorological Service was transformed into Rwanda Meteorology Agency (METEO RWANDA) by government law No. 54 bis/2011 of December 2011, which was gazetted in the Official Gazette No. 54 of January 2012. On 14/08/2014, the Rwanda Meteorology Agency was transferred from MININFRA to the Ministry of Environment (MoE).
Programmes
- Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel Management
Tuition
- Vatel maintains an Admissions and Fees page for the Kigali campus but publishes no figure on it — request the brochure or attend an information session, or email admissions@vatel.rw. Two costs to ask about explicitly. First, the Marco Polo year abroad: your second year may be spent at any Vatel campus worldwide, which is the programme's defining feature, but travel, visas and living costs in that country are a separate matter from Kigali tuition and are not documented. Second, whether any scholarship or aid exists — none was found, and for a for-profit international school that absence would be material. One more thing worth settling before you enrol: establish whether you graduate with a Rwandan HEC-accredited degree, a French qualification, or both. The programmes carry French professional titles (Responsable en management operationnel en hotellerie internationale for the Bachelor, Directeur en hotellerie internationale for the MBA) alongside the English names, and for a school whose whole value proposition is international portability, which certificate you end up holding matters. Approximately RWF 2,500,000-3,500,000 per year — AMONG THE MOST EXPENSIVE IN RWANDA, second only to Africa Health Sciences University. What you are paying for is the dual French/Rwandan curriculum, paid hotel internships and placement into the global Vatel network. Scholarships are LIMITED and merit-based by internal application. Enrolment is roughly 150-250 students, so cohorts are very small. International support is strong: bilingual French/English, with visa assistance.

- Admission runs in six stages: contact the school, submit the application form and documents, file evaluation, entrance exam taken at the school, results within a few days, then a validating INTERVIEW WITH THE SCHOOL DIRECTOR. Admission is not confirmed until that interview.
