University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) is a health sciences university in Rwanda. An initiative of Partners In Health, UGHE is a private, not-for-profit, accredited institution.

Tuition

• The MBBS-MGHD carries no application or tuition cost; admitted students instead sign a Public Service Agreement committing to serve under their country's Ministry of Health. Tuition includes full room and board. The MGHD has been reported at USD 54,000 total covering tuition, room and board, with scholarships historically covering an average of USD 49,000. USD 10,000-18,000 per year on paper — BUT NEARLY 100% IS OFFSET FOR AFRICAN MEDICAL SCHOLARS through full scholarships funded by Partners In Health and its donors. DO NOT RULE UGHE OUT ON THE HEADLINE FIGURE; it is closer to a funded place than a fee-paying one for most African applicants. The campus is fully residential at Butaro in Burera District — remote, and residency is part of the model rather than an inconvenience. VETERINARY MEDICINE AND ONE HEALTH are rare provision in this directory.

Admissions

• MBBS-MGHD applicants must sign a Public Service Agreement and an Employment Agreement with the Ministry of Health. Acceptance is withdrawn if the student declines.
• Non-Rwandan nationals with refugee status in Rwanda or another African country are eligible.
• Mastercard Foundation Scholars applicants must be under 35 at the time of application.
