Tuition
- MMUST publishes FIVE separate fee structures by level — postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, certificate and TVET diploma — at mmust.ac.ke/fee-structures-2. Be aware that when checked in August 2026 the MMUST website was returning a server error (HTTP 500), so those documents may be temporarily unreachable; if so, request the current structure by email at info@mmust.ac.ke. The separate TVET diploma schedule matters: TVET provision is priced differently from regular diplomas, so check which track your course sits in. As a public university MMUST students access BOTH Universities Fund scholarships and HELB loans, means-tested across five household-income bands — apply at hef.co.ke once KUCCPS places you. Kakamega living costs are well below Nairobi. Kenya's funding framework is under active litigation and reform, so treat any figure you are quoted as dated. Fees are paid via M-Pesa through the eCitizen paybill 222222.
Admissions
- The national minimum for degree entry is a KCSE mean grade of C+, with programme-specific cluster requirements published by KUCCPS each cycle.
- MMUST's own entry requirements beyond the national minimum were not published — confirm before ranking your KUCCPS choices.
- If you are entering ENGINEERING, ask for written confirmation of Engineers Board of Kenya accreditation: it determines whether you can register as a professional engineer, and it was not confirmed for MMUST.
- Accepts international applicants
