Tuition
- No Garissa fee figures could be verified — request the current structure from info@gau.ac.ke, admissions@gau.ac.ke or +254 721 966 418. As a public university its students access both Universities Fund scholarships and HELB loans, means-tested across five household-income bands; apply at hef.co.ke once KUCCPS places you. TWO THINGS WORTH ASKING ABOUT THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO THIS REGION. First, whether any affirmative action or regional equity provisions apply to funding for north eastern students — such provisions have existed in Kenyan education policy and could be material. Second, if you are a refugee learner: Garissa County hosts the Dadaab complex, one of the world's largest refugee settlements, and whether the university admits refugee students and on what terms is an unanswered question that would matter enormously to those it affects. Garissa living costs are below Nairobi.
