Tuition
- No Daystar fee figures could be verified — request the current structure on admissions@daystar.ac.ke or +254 709 972 000. A local/international split exists in published fee matrices, so international applicants should expect a premium; the amount was not established. As a private university Daystar accesses HELB loans ONLY, not Universities Fund scholarships, which are reserved for public institutions. It does offer its own financial aid and scholarships, but no values or criteria were published — ask directly. One genuinely useful cost route: Daystar's diploma offering is unusually broad (eleven named programmes spanning international relations, peace and conflict transformation, theology, entrepreneurship, marketing, purchasing and logistics, HR, business administration, communication, music and ICT), which gives a lower-cost entry point for applicants who did not reach degree entry grades, with the option to progress later. Kenya's funding framework is under active litigation and reform — treat all figures as dated August 2026.
Admissions
- Degree entry: KCSE C+ (plus) and above, OR 5 credits at IGCSE, OR 2 principal passes at A Level, OR Division 2 at GCE, OR CPA(K) as a route into the commerce degree. Some majors carry additional requirements.
- This is the most accommodating set of non-KCSE entry routes recorded in this directory — if you hold IGCSE, A Level or GCE qualifications rather than KCSE, Daystar explicitly recognises them, which many Kenyan institutions do not.
- The Diploma in Communication requires a C plain in English at KCSE.
- Postgraduate entry requires a bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
- Before enrolling in LAW or NURSING, ask for written confirmation of Council of Legal Education and Nursing Council of Kenya recognition respectively — neither was confirmed, and without it those degrees do not lead to practice.
- Students bringing a personal vehicle need a parking permit; the Nairobi campus has limited parking.
- Accepts international applicants
