Established in 2010 as the University of Zinder and renamed in 2022 to honor Professor André Salifou, the university is one of Niger's key public higher education institutions. It comprises several faculties, including Letters and Human Sciences, Health Sciences, Science and Technology, and Educational Sciences, alongside a University Institute of Technology (IUT) and the National School of Petroleum and Gas (ENPG). UAS is committed to providing quality academic and professional training to support the socio-economic development of Niger.
