Established in 2013, the department was created to address the growing challenges of water resources management and environmental protection. It offers a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, alongside postgraduate programs including M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees. The department also hosts the National Water Resources Capacity Building Network Centre for the North Central region of Nigeria, promoting collaborative research and professional training.
