Originally established in October 1980 as the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, it was split in July 2013 to form the Department of Human Kinetics Education. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Sc.(Ed.), M.Sc.(Ed.), M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in exercise, sports science, and recreation. It is colloquially known as 'Jumpology' within the university community.
