Université de Yaoundé I
The Université de Yaoundé I was formed in 1993 when the original University of Yaoundé (founded in 1962) was split into two separate entities. Located in the capital city of Yaoundé, its main campus is in the Ngoa-Ekelle neighborhood. The university offers a wide range of programs across its faculties, including Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Medicine, as well as prestigious professional schools like the National Advanced School of Engineering (ENSPY). It provides bilingual instruction in French and English, serving a large student population of approximately 50,000 students.

Tuition
- Tuition: XAF 50,000 to 1,000,000 per year
- CEMAC citizens: 50,000 XAF/year statutory fee; foreign students: 600,000–1,000,000 XAF/year.
