Founded on December 6, 1990, at the initiative of the Cardinal Malula Foundation and local figures, the Université de Mbuji Mayi (UM) is a private, community-utility higher education institution in the Kasai-Oriental province of the DRC. Operating primarily from its Campus de Tshikama, the university provides undergraduate and graduate education across several faculties, including Medicine, Law, Applied Sciences, and Economics. It aims to train a competent elite to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region and the country.
