Tuition
- TUM publishes a 2025/2026 fee structure but the figures were not verified — request it from info@tum.ac.ke or +254 733 955 377. As a public technical university its rates should be broadly comparable to the Technical University of Kenya's, though coastal living costs differ from Nairobi's. As a public university TUM students access BOTH Universities Fund scholarships and HELB loans, means-tested across five household-income bands; apply at hef.co.ke once KUCCPS places you. A genuine cost advantage for coastal students: TUM's Kwale and Lamu campuses let you study without relocating to Mombasa, which for families in Lamu especially can be the difference between attending and not. Kenya's funding framework is under active litigation and reform, so treat any figure you are quoted as dated. Fees are paid via M-Pesa through the eCitizen paybill 222222.
Admissions
- The national minimum for degree entry is a KCSE mean grade of C+, with programme-specific cluster requirements published by KUCCPS each cycle.
- TUM's own entry requirements beyond the national minimum were not published — confirm before ranking your KUCCPS choices.
- If applying for ENGINEERING, ask for written confirmation of Engineers Board of Kenya accreditation — it determines whether you can register as a professional engineer, and it was not confirmed for TUM.
- TUM retains substantial diploma and certificate provision from its polytechnic heritage, with progression routes into degrees.
- Accepts international applicants
