Tuition
- TUK explains its fee MODEL more clearly than any other university here, which lets you interpret any fee statement even before you have the numbers. Fees have three parts: (1) STATUTORY FEES — registration, student ID, student union, medical and activity charges, paid once per academic year or on first registration; (2) TUITION — charged PER SEMESTER, not annually; and (3) PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC INCIDENTAL CHARGES such as laboratory or workshop fees, which are the main reason costs differ between programmes. The same architecture applies to government-sponsored and self-sponsored students alike. Practical consequence: budget for a LARGER payment at first registration than in later semesters, because the annual statutory block lands then. TUK publishes separate fee documents for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, masters, certificate, international and distance education students — request them from info@tukenya.ac.ke or the finance office. Nursing has a distinct schedule, as at DeKUT. SCAM WARNING, stated by TUK itself: it does NOT accept cash for tuition or related fees. Pay only into the University's official bank accounts, indicating your full name and registration number against every payment, and NEVER hand cash to an individual. Verify the current account details on your admission letter, the student portal or with the finance office before depositing, because banking arrangements change. As a public university TUK students access both Universities Fund scholarships and HELB loans; apply at hef.co.ke. Fees may be revised in line with Central Bank of Kenya inflation, announced by Council before the academic year.
Admissions
- The national minimum for degree entry is a KCSE mean grade of C+, with programme-specific cluster requirements set by KUCCPS.
- A DIPLOMA-TO-DEGREE progression route exists for technical programmes — TUK receives applicants moving up from diploma level into degrees such as Building and Construction Engineering, which reflects its Kenya Polytechnic heritage.
- Your full name and registration number must be indicated against every fee payment.
- Verify the University's current bank account details on your admission letter, the student portal or with the finance office before depositing any money.
- Accepts international applicants
