Established in 2018, Nigerian Maritime University (NMU) is the first paramilitary university and maritime college in Nigeria and West Africa. It was founded by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the critical shortage of professional human capital in the maritime industry. The university operates across its permanent site in Okerenkoko and a take-off campus in Kurutie, offering specialized undergraduate programs in engineering, transport, and environmental management.
