Mauritius College of the Air
Established by Parliament in December 1971, the Mauritius College of the Air (MCA) initially supported primary and secondary students using correspondence courses and educational radio and television broadcasts. Over the decades, its mandate expanded to include tertiary-level distance education programs in collaboration with local and international universities. Operating under the Ministry of Education, the MCA played a key role in democratizing access to education across Mauritius. In July 2012, the institution was formally integrated into and absorbed by the newly established Open University of Mauritius.
