Established in 2013 by Pastor Simeon Kayiwa of the Namirembe Christian Fellowship, Kayiwa International University was founded to offer values-based higher education. The institution has historically provided programs in theology, business, education, and humanities. Although it was provisionally licensed by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in 2015, its license was officially revoked in 2019 due to non-compliance with regulatory standards.
