Established on April 1, 1960, the Ghana Military Academy was founded to localize officer training and reduce reliance on foreign military academies. Based at Whistler Barracks in Teshie, Accra, the academy offers intensive training programs, including the Regular Career Course and the Short Service Commission. It trains both Ghanaian cadets and allied officers from other African nations, instilling leadership, discipline, and military tactics.
