Department of Crop and Soil science Rivers state university
Originally established on December 4, 1970, as the Department of Crop/Soil Science and Forestry under the former College of Science and Technology, the department has evolved to focus on crop and soil sciences. It offers a five-year Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric) degree with specializations in Crop Science and Soil Science, alongside Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The department aims to train high-level manpower equipped to solve crop production and soil management challenges, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
