Community Integrated Polytechnic
Established in 2012, Community Integrated Polytechnic (CIP) was a private polytechnic college in Rwanda's Eastern Province. The institution aimed to provide practical knowledge and technical skills to contribute to the socio-economic development of rural communities. However, due to regulatory and accreditation issues, the college faced temporary closures and was ultimately closed by the Higher Education Council (HEC) of Rwanda.
Programmes
- Advanced Diploma (A1) in Crop Production
- Advanced Diploma (A1) in Animal Production and Health
- Advanced Diploma (A1) in Agricultural Engineering and Irrigation
- Advanced Diploma (A1) in Information Technology
Tuition
- Approximately RWF 450,000 to 650,000 per academic year. Note this sits ABOVE the ~300,000 government-sponsored rate at the public Rwanda Polytechnic colleges but below their self-sponsored rate — which is the relevant comparison, since CIP is private and offers TVET A1 provision in the same fields. If you are weighing CIP against IPRC Ngoma or IPRC Musanze, the deciding question is whether you can obtain government sponsorship at a public college. Approximately RWF 350,000-500,000 per year — the CHEAPEST private technical provision in the Rwandan data. NO WORKING WEBSITE: cip.ac.rw is inactive, so apply by phone (+250 788 351 250 or +250 739 091 302), by email to cip.kayonza@gmail.com, or in person at Nyamirama Sector, Kayonza. Admission is reported as open rather than selective. NO WEBSITE AND NO ONLINE APPLICATION: the former cip.ac.rw domain is offline and there is no replacement. Apply in person at the Nyamirama Sector campus in Kayonza, or by phone on +250 788 351 250 / +250 739 091 302, or by email to cip.kayonza@gmail.com.
Admissions
- ENTRY: Advanced Level Certificate (A2 / S6) with AT LEAST TWO PRINCIPAL PASSES in relevant STEM or agriculture subjects.
- Provision is at ADVANCED DIPLOMA (A1) / TVET level, not degree level. Ask about progression routes to a bachelor's qualification if that is your goal.
- CIP IS PRIVATE AND INDEPENDENT, not part of Rwanda Polytechnic — so government-sponsored places at the ~300,000 RWF public rate do not apply here. Factor that into the comparison.
- Three of its four programmes are agricultural, which suits its rural Kayonza setting in Eastern Province.
